Auberge Nicholas Flamel

 This lovely restaurant in the heart of Paris is known not only for its excellent french cuisine, but
also for its fascinating story. Built in 1409, it is the oldest known house in Paris, and considered
a Historical Monument. The house originally belonged to the legendary alchemists Nicholas
Flamel and his wife Pernelle, who are said to have found the key to immortality (the
Philosopher's Stone). During their lifetime, they have financed the building of numerous
hospitals, churches and houses to offer shelter to the poor and homeless.
Despite its historic nature, the building is in a miraculously good condition, and there are still
visible prayers as well as magical and alchemist symbol carved in the stones of the front wall.
The "Auberge Nicholas Flamel" offers great food, a calm, cosy vibe increased by the historic
atmosphere of the 15th century.
